This weekend, Phoenix geeks out, nerds out, rides a luck dragon, visits galaxies & Japan.
Thursday, Feb 20th
It’s like an outside mini comicon! Dress up or just enjoy those that did, wander around and enjoy a plethora of booths, science experiments, live music, and general nerdery. Turnout has been awesome in years past, plus it’s very family friendly, so bring the kids. Give the Phoenix Comicon team a high five while you’re there. Starts at 4:30pm around Mill Ave. Totes free.
The Nerd Night crew is back to cram your head with random facts and information. They’re also doing something called Nerd Karaoke, which will be horrifying or amazing or both. At the FilmBar at 7pm.
Friday, Feb 21st
Spend an evening with Bastion, the unicorn-drawing math-test-ditching book-“borrowing”-kid, and Atrayu from the plains where they hunt the purple buffalo. Bonus points if can you make it through that scene with Artax in the Swamps of Sadness. (Repressed memories… resurfacing…) At the FilmBar at 5:50pm, but there are showtimes all weekend.
Two big reasons to check this out: 1. It’s free. 2. Experts in AstroBiology, Earthquakes, the Moon, Mars, Meteorites, Geology, Cosmology and more will be on hand to interact with guest in a state-of-the-art Gallery of Scientific Exploration. Yes and yes. The theme for the evening is Galaxies. #starryeyedjonathan

From what I hear, AZ Collector Marketplace is doing a massive comic book event this weekend. Lots of sellers, back issues, etc. Starts at 11am.
Now get out there and find a cure for the Childlike Empress!
