The International Horror & Sci Fi Film Festival is this weekend and it has become one of my favorite geek events during the year here in Phoenix.
There’s just something great about wandering from movie to movie, geeking out with the people who made the films and hearing their stories, feeling fancy in the party pavilion, and seeing what nerds are out there making. It’s especially cool seeing what locals have made.
If you want to get a feel for the festival, here are a few pics / stories from last time I went.
I’ll be there at least this Friday, checking out Teller’s (from Penn & Teller) horror themed magic show, which sounds pretty intriguing, as well as a few science fiction flicks.
Here’s the low-down for the whole thing:
- It’s all part of the Phoenix Film Festival starting this Thursday and going for a full week.
- At the Harkins Scottsdale 101 (it’s way up there).
- They’ll have a few guests, including Peter Block of “Saw,” and Meg Foster of “They Live.” (Wear your sunglasses.)
- You can get tickets and more info over at their site.
Let me know if you’ll be there this Friday so we can high five.
