Yeah, that’s right – Phoenix Comicon 2012 is starting with a big one!

And it’s the perfect follow up to their 2011 guest, Leonard Nimoy.

Not sure any of you need any Shatner background, but just in case:

Renowned for his portrayal of Captain James T. Kirk in the science fiction television series Star Trek from 1966 to 1969, Star Trek: The Animated Series from 1973 to 1974, and in seven of the subsequent Star Trek feature films from 1979 to 1994.

He has written a series of books chronicling his experiences playing Captain Kirk and being a part of Star Trek and has co-written several novels set in the Star Trek universe. He has also authored a series of science fiction novels called TekWar that were adapted for television.

Matt Solberg, the guy in charge of Phoenix Comicon commented that “It’s a great honor having William Shatner attend our event, he is an icon of the science fiction genre.”

Also, Phoenix Comicon 2012 tickets (memberships) are now on sale online.

Oh, and I can also mention that I get to blog for Phoenix Comicon again.

(Woo hoo!)

So what do you think of Kirk coming?
